Back to back wins over Spokane--but this one was especially satisfying. The 7,860 fans were pumped and ready for revenge in the form of a victory, and the boys did not disappoint.
The first period was classic Silvertips hockey. The Tips set the tone early with ferocious hitting, relentless defense, 2 fights by D-men Graham Potuer and Taylor Ellington, and 3 power play goals. The Chiefs were on their heels and took penalty after penalty in a futile effort to slow Everett down. Tokarski was sent to the bench early in the second period.
Though Spokane scored 2 goals in the third period, this game belonged to Everett, and there was never any doubt. Irving again was strong in net. Jonathan Harty played possessed all night long and demonstrated how he, as captain of the team, can play fierce, hard-hitting hockey without losing his cool and resorting to cheap shots (paying attention, Bruton?).
The fans in Section 119 were exceptionally boisterous. Leo and Tom were on a road trip to Vancouver to see the Kings defeat the Canuckleheads. (Well, we think they got through the border crossing, but no one is really sure.) However, in their absence, other fans filled in admirably to chant 'you're gonna give it up Tokarski' and 'way to be disciplined, Spokane' as well as some other colorful remarks directed at the Chiefs' coach for his idiotic and totally inappropriate comments that cost him a mere $500. (How did he not rate a higher fine than Becanic did for his genteel description of previous officiating as 'Mickey Mouse'? Hmmm...)
The other highlight of the evening was the natural hat trick by Clayton Bauer. As the caps and hats were tossed, Section 119 was somewhat successful. Laura gave it up and her cap landed on the ice. Bill's cap ended up in Section 118 about 12 seats away--but it was the thought that counted!
All in all, it was an awesome game and a great evening in which to be a Silvertips fan.
Go Tips!

Ok, so I'm not allowed to ad lib when insulting the other team and no one lets me blog even though I gave up my rhinestone Silvertips hat which I dearly loved (especially when I take my helmet off when I'm on the motorcyle) so take that: http://silvertipshottie.blogspot.com/
Hockey Tom & Leo: How do you like me now???
Following Bauer's hat trick my hat was on a direct path to the ice, however, with all the boisterious glee from section 119 my hat caught a wind current pushed it over to ROW 2 section 118. Some nice fan there continued it on it's journey to the ice. Has Leo missed all the hat tricks this year? Has Hockey Tom ever had a hat to throw? Best 60 minutes for the Tips all season. Great game.
any tom and leo sightings?
I'm curious if any of our Section 119 group is going to the Seattle game on January 26th...should we purchase a block of tickets and sit together?
Who wants to take on this task?
