Fans in 119, 208 and many other sections are anxious to know the answer to that burning question 'why do Tips players sit on the bench while opposing players stand?'. It may be one of the few questions Becanic can easily answer.
Last year when phenom Peter Mueller stepped onto the ice for the Tips, he made every other player better, but the erratic play we've seen this year cannot be blamed on his departure. There were wholesale changes on every level in the Tips organization, from the budblaster guy on up.
The most critical change was at the coaching level, and admittedly, following Constantine was going to be exceedingly difficult. However tough he was, his players performed well, sometimes brilliantly and often exceeding their own (and everyone else's) expectations. Constantine proved from day one that his system and philosophy could and did work. He found a way to motivate his players and to achieve consistency from them.
Even with all the changes that have occurred in this past season, the Tips still have a winning record and have earned a playoff berth, so they deserve credit for having accomplished that much. What's hard to do is hang on for dear life on the roller coaster ride this team takes us on.

Am I excited for the Playoffs? Yes - but should we be relieved that the Tips are going to the Post Season? No way! Yes there have been some injuries, welcome to competitive sports. There have been a multitude of changes this season that is for sure - but is that a valid excuse for a team that is stacked with talent to barely be over the .500 mark - nope. I keep trying to convince myself that this could be one of those teams that 'other teams' don't want to face come playoff time because IF (and that's a BIG IF) Becanic can get these guys to come out and play to their ABILITIES, then we could do some damage. As for my wife and I...we will remain optomistic - but I have not sent in my renewal form for next year's season tickets yet...
