it was a dismal way to start 3 games in 3 nights for the tips. the first period of last night's game was a disaster--stupid penalties taken and stupid penalties called--from which the tips could not recover.....
tell me why the harty/smuk scrum resulted in their ejections in the first period. it looked pretty benign, and we all know we've seen far worse with no subseqent player removals.....
what a noticeable difference it was without harty in our new and improved power play line; clearly he was missed....
is it my imagnination or do the tips ease up on defense with irving in net versus barrie. i'm trying to cut leland some slack.....
on a lighter note, what makes watching a game like this bearable is the joy of sitting in 119. esposito was heckled to death by tom and leo. 'hey ref...you SUCK' was heard repeatedly (along with 'idiot' and 'jackass' on numerous occasions by the ever faithful). leo was warmly welcomed back from his journey south (need we say more?). and finally, i hope the fan in front of tom (yes folks--tom, not leo) please remember to bring protection (in the form of plastic covering or a raincoat) to future games to avoid being doused by beer showers.
go tips! beat the crap out of leo's beloved winterhawks!

I watched the game on line tonight against Leo's beloved Winterhawks and boy did Mucka give them up!
The guys played very well and appeared inspired again. It was good to see Leland get some support (I agree that they seem to ease up on defense when Irving is in the net but not tonight).
The poor officiating continued, luckily this time Portland was impacted more then us.
One funny incident; Enlish got into a scuffle with an unidentified Portland player, the guy called English out so English dropped a glove, before he could get the other glove off the other player had sprinted off the ice and was hiding on the bench.
All in all a very good game, onto Tri City.
Would you want to fight English? I can't wait to see that kid fight in the EEC...he'll earn his place in the "Sonne Hall of Fame."
